How it works
Four steps from an empty inbox to your first evening of speaking German.
-
Create an account
Email address and password, nothing else. There is no application form and no entrance test.
-
Confirm your email
We send you a link. This makes sure we can actually reach you if a session moves or is cancelled.
-
Wait for verification
A person then reviews your account by hand. This is separate from confirming your email and it is what keeps the groups a safe space. What we check
-
Register for a batch
Pick a batch and register once — your place covers all eight sessions. If it is already full, you can join the waiting list.
Why batches rather than drop-ins
Speaking a language in front of strangers is uncomfortable. Speaking it in front of the same eight people for the sixth week running is not. That is the whole reason we run fixed groups instead of open evenings: the hard part is the first session, and the group is what carries you past it.
It also means we can plan. All dates, times and rooms are published before registration opens, so you can decide once whether the series fits your term.
If you cannot make it
Missing an evening is not a problem — please just cancel while someone on the waiting list can still take the place. Each batch page shows the deadline.
A place you hold and do not use is a place someone else could not take. That is the only rule we are strict about.
If it happens repeatedly, your account can be paused from registering for a while. Nothing is decided automatically behind your back: you can see your own attendance and any restriction at any time under My attendance.
