A room where German is easy to speak
SprichMit?! is run by students in Aachen, for anyone who wants to practise speaking German.
Why we exist
Language courses teach you a great deal and still leave one thing out: the ordinary, slightly awkward practice of talking. Most learners we know can read a newspaper long before they can order confidently in a café. That gap is what we try to close.
How we work
Every batch is guided by tutors who are students themselves. They keep the conversation moving, bring a topic when the group has none, and make sure the quieter people get a turn. They do not teach and they do not grade.
Groups are deliberately small, and a batch keeps the same people for all eight evenings. Familiar faces make a surprising difference to how much people dare to say.
Who can take part
Anyone who wants to improve their spoken German. Creating an account takes a minute; after that a person reviews it by hand — see verification.
